Models seeking agencies should always make sure that they know how much commission they are being charged after they start booking, and they should also never pay any money up front to get an agent. Agents are on the same page as the model. Both parties want to book jobs, so as a model it is important to do as much as you can to help your agent help you. Being available for your meetings and castings is critical to your success. Remember that your agent should respect your efforts, just as you should respect the efforts your agent puts forth for you. If you have a day off from castings, call your agent and see if you can go into the office and help out with packets or stickering cards, this is a great way to see what your agent is about, and your agent will have no choice but to think of you for a project if you are sitting right in their office. The more they see you the better your chances are of getting booked.
